Purusha Suktam is one of the Pancha Suktam. It has the power to generate a tremendous positive spiritual force. Neerajanam is an offering made by devotees of Ayyappa to get relief from the adverse effects of Shani. Neerajanam is done on a Saturday. Broken coconuts are filled with sesame oil and a wick made with til seeds is lighted before Ayyappa. Til and sesame oil represent Shani.
